The Asian Development Bank and the Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore have joined hands in partnership for developing renewable energy generation and transmission across the ASEAN region. In a bid to tap opportunities in the EV market, Thailand’s local manufacturers are looking forward to partnering with the Chinese firms, mainly focusing on EVs. Th recent example is the leading Thai automaker Siam Motors, which is in talks with several Chinese automakers, particularly for high-end electric vehicles. Chinese automotive firm BYD has recently announced its investment plans  in a new industrial complex in Northeastern Brazil. The investment is estimated to be around 3 billion reals ($620 million), with the aim to boost local production to offer competitive prices. The firm stated that the complex, made up of three plants, will be built in the Camacari industrial park in the northeastern state of Bahia, on land formerly occupied by a Ford plant that closed in 2021. The Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines was able to generate 3,580.76 Megawatt (MW) of committed renewable energy capacities under the second round of the Green Energy Auction Programme (GEAP), which would be delivered between 2024 to 2026.  DOE disclosed this in a recent statement.
