Singapore-based Cleantech Solar, a provider of renewable energy solutions in Southeast Asia and India, has signed a long-term solar deal with industrial thread manufacturer, Coats Group PLC in Indonesia to develop a 540 kW rooftop solar PV project at their facility in Pasuruan, East Java.

As per the agreement, Cleantech Solar will provide end-to-end solar solutions and also ensure the performance of the system.

The  solar PV system  includes 990 solar modules which is  expected to generate 16 GWh of clean energy contributing in the reduction of over 13 kilotonnes of CO2 emissions. With this, Coats will be able use renewable energy as a part of their power consumption at zero capital investment.

This deal is a significant step  efforts towards sustainability in Indonesia proving Coats’ goal of ‘pioneering a sustainable future’.

Nguyen Phan, Managing Director at Coats Rejo Indonesia, said, “Transitioning to renewable energy is the core of our sustainability strategy. I am delighted to announce this partnership with Cleantech Solar. We are firmly committed to reducing our environmental footprint and value chain emissions.”

Raju Shukla, Founder and CEO of Cleantech Solar, said, “This solar PV underscores the commitment of leading corporates towards promoting responsible business practices. By incorporating renewable energy in their manufacturing process, Coats Rejo Indonesia is making significant strides towards its sustainability targets and contributing towards Indonesia’s decarbonising efforts. Our state-of-the-art solar PV solution will provide cost savings on electricity and markedly reduce carbon emissions, thereby contributing towards a cleaner environment. We are elated to partner with Coats Rejo Indonesia and look forward to the successful commissioning of the system.”
