Trina Solar Co. Ltd (Trina Solar), solar PV and smart energy total solutions provider, and SUMEC Complete Equipment and Engineering Co., Ltd. (SUMEC Engineering) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) where the two have agreed to strengthen their level of cooperation in Southeast Asian markets. Since 2014, the two companies have achieved many successful projects in the Asia Pacific region such as Vietnam, Philippines, etc.

SUMEC – a manufacturing service conglomerate with specialization in EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contracting for both international and domestic markets – is helping to build Aboitiz Renewables’ 159 MW solar project in the northern Philippine province of Pangasinan. Trina Solar has been awarded a contract to supply all the solar modules for this project.

SUMEC helped to build Sao Mai Group’s 210 MW solar project in Vietnam’s An Giang province. Trina Solar in 2020 supplied 108 MW of modules for this project. Under the MoU, each company will establish a team that will be responsible for liaising closely with the other party to further strengthen goodwill and coordinate work between the two.

The two companies, which are continuing to invest in research and development (R&D) in their respective areas, have agreed to technical exchanges to foster greater collaboration so that solar projects they work on jointly, make use of the latest advances in technology.

The two also agree, that on solar projects they have jointly developed, they will continue to provide technical support to each other.
