Malakoff Corporation Berhad, by way of its subsidiary Malakoff Radiance Sdn Bhd, has entered into a Solar Power Purchase Agreement (SPPA) with Gas Malaysia Berhad.

The agreement paves the way for the development, operation, and maintenance of solar systems at three locations of Gas Malaysia: Gas Malaysia Headquarters in Shah Alam, Selangor, Southern Regional Office in Pusar Gudang, Pahang, and Eastern Regional Office in Gebeng, Kuantan.

In addition to the renewable energy initiative, Malakoff will also set up Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations at the headquarters of Gas Malaysia and Gas Malaysia’s Jalan Gurney site in Kuala Lumpur.

Malakoff has set sights on achieving 500 MW of solar projects within the Albukhary Group of Companies.  As of now, Malakoff has in its portfolio 151 MW of renewable energy generating capacity. These encompass large scale solar, rooftop solar and small hydropower projects.
