Singaporean renewable energy firm Gurin Energy has recently made a significant stride in the Philippines solar energy sector by officially committing to a 39-megawatt peak (MWp) solar project. This decision marks the culmination of their planning and investment efforts, signifying a concrete step towards sustainable energy production in the region.
It has secured a sprawling 40-hectare site in the municipality of Capas, located within the Tarlac province, Gurin Energy solidified its commitment to expanding renewable energy infrastructure in the Philippines. This achievement was made possible through a strategic 25-year lease agreement with the Philippines’ Bases Conversion and Development Authority.
Notably, the Capas project represents Gurin Energy’s second endeavor in the Philippines solar market, complementing their ongoing construction of the Palauig solar plant, boasting a capacity of 75 MW, situated in Zambales province.
As per the firm, Gurin Energy reveals its ambitious vision for the region, boasting a robust pipeline of projects totaling 1 gigawatt in the Philippines alone. This substantial commitment underscores the company’s dedication to fostering sustainable energy solutions across Asia.
Beyond the Philippines, Gurin Energy’s footprint extends across various nations in the region, with a combined development portfolio of 7 gigawatts. This includes projects at different stages of progress in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines, highlighting their comprehensive regional strategy and commitment to renewable energy development.
By leveraging their expertise and resources, Gurin Energy is expected to make a lasting impact on the renewable energy landscape in Asia, contributing significantly to the transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
