Real estate solutions provider KCN Vietnam and leading French multinational TotalEnergies have entered into a strategic partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Both parties have agreed that TotalEnergies would be the exclusive solar energy provider on the rooftops of KCN Vietnam properties.
With current and pipeline projects combined, the properties of KCN Vietnam will provide approximately 610,000 square meters of roof space and 280,000 square meters of solar panels.
It has been agreed between the two companies that TotalEnergies will operate and maintain the solar panel system for 20 years.
Once the solar panels are installed on the rooftops across existing properties of KCN Vietnam, the maximum solar energy generated will be 45 MWp. The annual output will be 51 GWh and it will be enough to reduce more than 23,000 tons of carbon dioxide every year.
KCN Vietnam believes this partnership will aid the fight for sustainable industrial practices in Vietnam. As per the official statement of the company, this opportunity will not only adhere to the company’s sustainable development strategy but also provide clean energy to tenants looking to reduce carbon emissions.
Tran Huynh, COO of KCN Vietnam, stated, “Since the establishment of KCN Vietnam, we have been looking for a reliable and experienced partner to help provide clean energy to our tenants. It has been a long journey, but we finally signed the MOU with TotalEnergies. We strongly believe this partnership will aid our stakeholders and us in the journey towards creating a more sustainable industrial environment in Vietnam.”
KCN Vietnam provides premium industrial properties for rental in Vietnam for the industrial and logistic sectors. It claims to be enabling businesses to leverage Vietnam’s growth in a sustainable manner. TotalEnergies on the other hand is a global player that delves in oil, biofuels, natural gas, green gases, renewables and electricity.
